Happy April, Sew Flakes!
March was busy, and it looks like April will be just as active. Kudos to everyone who has finished their blocks and is up to date on the challenge. For those still working on them, keep going—you’re almost there!
April brings two new, fairly simple blocks. Both include four-patch steps and continue our use of the half-square triangle and flying geese methods.
I have also added two new features to the patterns:
1. Sample Test Blocks: I’ve included my own test blocks at the end of each pattern in our emailed instructions to demonstrate how different fabric placements change the look of the block. Please be sure to read through all instructions before you begin. These are not available online, but there are still full instructions and the coloring pages.
2. Gradients on Coloring Pages: The coloring pages now include gradients in each fabric area to help you determine placement. Please let me know if this addition is helpful.
Your April To-Do List:
- Complete Block One: Chains
- Complete Block Two: Island Star
As always, happy sewing and keep posting your results!
Julie
